Creative Aging Program

Project Details

To support and enhance older adults’ cognitive engagement and sense of social connectedness and well-being, we create and implement interactive art workshops for seniors at assisted living homes and at a local gallery. Interactive arts involve art creation with physical computing techniques and everyday materials (ex. papers and fabrics). Older adult participants learn to use interactive art technology to create cards for family members. Before and after the series of art workshops, we assess older adults’ psychological well-being and art technology interests. All activities and outcomes are recorded and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods.
